One weekend a year, Berwick opens its unique historical buildings to the public for free. The Palace Green Pavilion is one such building which grounds provided a venue for pagentry of years gone by.
At every Dickensian Market (usually held on one of the coldest days of the year), the Scouts and PGPT have a stall to help raise funds for the refurbishment of the building.
John Grundy gave a sold out talk in September 2009 at the Guild Hall about the merits of Berwick's architecture. .
The sold out showing of the movie "Australia" was held at The Maltings in April 2009 which helped raise funds for the Pavilion.
